I would go for smaller tasks, labeled under a single Project. This last example might need several tasks to be done so I advise against it. Depending on what we prefer, we could have cards that contain small tasks, like: Call Johnny and ask him about the update for the proposal or larger, “project-like” ones, for example: Create the Proposal for Client X. You decide on the complexity of the Card. If we are working with a physical board, these might be post-its or cards that stick with magnets or whatever. Especially when it came down to repetitive work, like support, maintenance, or ticketing. Using columns like “To Do”, “Doing” or Done you could have a high degree of transparency in your factory. Through Kanban, everyone working in a factory or an assembly line could see exactly what is the status of the work. It is a Japanese term, meaning ”sign-board”, and it was one of the breakthroughs of Taichi Ohno’s “revolution” at Toyota Production System. Kanban is familiar for people who have worked in manufacturing or even Software Development. We will see below what Personal Kanban is and why it is a preferred method for productivity wannabes. This way, they see when they need to do what and make sure nothing slips through the cracks. That is why a lot of people prefer to use a Personal Kanban Board for their tasks.
